Confusing lameness: workup with the expert

Objectives

The objectives of this course are to discuss, characterize and workup difficult lameness’s particularly focusing on real upper limb problems and multiple limb lameness. Different theoretical session will introduce the participants to clinical cases which will be worked up using multimedia material and discussed with the expert.

At the end of this course participants will be able to differentiate real upper limb lameness from lower limb problems, unravel multiple limb lameness and differentiate proximal metatarsal from tarsal pain.

The course particularly focuses on interactivity and case based discussion.

Equine Arthroscopy Course (part III)

Objectives

The objectives of the course are:
- to review the indications and the techniques for internal fixation under arthroscopic guidance in horses
- to review the indications, describe and apply the technique of internal fixation of carpal slab fractures in horses.
- to review, describe and apply diagnostic and surgical arthroscopic techniques for the PIP joint
- to review, describe and apply the technique of internal fixation of condylar fracture of the distal metacarpus in horses.
- to review, describe and apply the technique of internal fixation of the proximal sesamoid bone fractures in horses
- to review, describe and apply diagnostic and surgical arthroscopic techniques for the elbow
- to review, describe and apply diagnostic and surgical arthroscopic techniques for the shoulder
- to perform diagnostic and surgical techniques arthroscopic techniques of the carpus including internal fixation of carpal slab fractures
- to perform diagnostic and surgical techniques arthroscopic techniques of the PIP joint
- to perform diagnostic and surgical techniques arthroscopic techniques of the fetlock including internal fixation of condylar and sesomiod bone fractures.

At the end of the course, the participants will be able to:
Interpret indications for diagnostic and surgical arthroscopic techniques, know the different access sites for arthroscopy of the carpus, PIP joint, fetlock, elbow and shoulder and to apply them in clinical cases, perform diagnostic and surgical arthroscopic techniques in these specific locations and able to perform internal fixation of specific fractures under arthroscopic guidance
